Week Seventy Six

This week we had some great experiences.

First off we got to have our interviews with President Egginton! It was great to have him here in Uruapan and we could literally see a change in everyone's attitude and levels of happiness after the interviews. The President has a wonderful effect upon all of the missionaries in this mission, and I think that a lot of this has to do with the spirit he always has with him, and the amount of love that he shows all of us. After the interviews we got to get some work done in our area. We went to the group of Saints that live in Cheran to go help them out and visit some investigators we've got. I think I already mentioned it but in total there is one active family there and around 40 members who are inactive. Its a kind of mountainy place and there is tons of green foresty stuff all over the place which makes for beautiful pictures. One of our investigators lives on a ranch pretty much and we found a whip thing made from a goat leg or something like that. It was pretty weird but also funny.

Then on Saturday we had a pretty spiritual experience. We were walking back from our food appointment when one of the less active families we have been working with called us. Kind of confused we answered to see what they needed. They told us that they wanted me to baptize their daughter later that afternoon. I was like what the heck that was random but sure. It was really special to be able to baptize her and feel the spirit in that special ordinance. I think it was a great experience because we have been working with the members of this family for a long time and they are just barely starting to become active again. I hope that this baptism will help to commit them to continued activity and that they will always remember it. I sure will.

Other than that not much going on around here. We took some pictures with a few of our favorite members after church on Sunday. Tons of love and thanks to these people for all the support they give us. They are the reason that I feel at home and can work so hard here in Linda Vista.

Hope everyone had a good week and that you are all studying the scriptures. I will be studying meekness and the Plan of Salvation and will be memorizing the scripture in Mathew 18:3 which says "Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."

I love this scripture and am trying to become more childlike in the right ways.  Love you guys.  Hope you have a great week!
