Happy Lunes everyone.

Doing great here in Acambaro. Seriously don’t think anything new ever happens around here haha but that’s all good. Really don’t have a lot to mention this week. First off HAPPYBIRTHDAY!!! to my mom. I hope it’s a good one. Definitely wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my mom. Thanks for everything you do.

But yeah back to the business. This week I put a lot of study into hope. I think that you could probably benefit from a little study on hope. But yeah it really helped me out and it really motivated me to keep working hard here in this area. I don’t have lots of time but let’s see if I have any crazy stories. I’m too boring to have crazy stories. Sorry guys. Hope you all have good weeks.

(A FRIEND FORWARDED TO ME THIS LETTER SHE SENT TO ELDER CLIFFORD LAST WEEK, I  THINK THAT IT COULD BE AN INSPIRATION TO MANY MISSIONARIES AND CHURCH MEMBERS).

Elder Clifford,

I had to share with you a talk a Brother gave in sacrament today. He served his mission in Brazil many years ago and went back to visit last month. He said that he and his trainer opened an area there. He talked of not having beds, much food, or anything really, for several days. This is when I started thinking of you, Colby! He said this town he was in was so poor, dirty, dangerous filled with dogs and homeless people. He said it was rough. He said there were literally 6 priesthood holders (including them) in the town and they didn't even have a place to meet. They had to travel
to the next town attend church. He said as they started teaching people it was so hard to convince them to spend money to travel to the next town over for church when they couldn't even afford the bus for work. He said he got to visit the area again at the end of his mission and how they were making such good progress. They had enough for a branch. 5 years later he went back and he couldn't believe how many members there were. They had enough for a ward, but the church hadn't built a building yet because it was growing so fast in this town they had no idea what size of a building they needed to build. Last month he was able to go back and visit...12 years later and he said he just cried. Not only did they have a beautiful 3 story stake center, but the town itself was beautiful. He bore testimony how the gospel coming into this town not only changed the members, but it changed everyone. The hand of the Lord was over this town and the change was miraculous. I wanted to share this with you because I couldn't stop thinking about you while he was giving this talk. You are doing such an important work in an important place. Some areas may be rough....some times it might seem impossible, but the Lord's work WILL continue. You are part of the miracle that is the spreading of the gospel. You are changing lives, families, and maybe even a whole town! We pray for you every day and are so grateful for the work you are doing.

Hugs!!!!
Jeni :)

Thanks for sharing that awesome story!! I sincerely hope that my first area turns out the same way, but it is true that the Lords work will always continue. It’s rapidly progressing all over the world. I can only imagine what the church will be like in 20, 30, 40 years. Thanks again! Hope everyone is doing well in the Norris family!

Elder Clifford
